Post Re: 2006 Mazda 3 GT
All the wet weather seems to have wreaked havoc on my passengers side head light. The whole fixture is full of condensation and water droplets. Thankfully I haven't had her for 30 days yet, so I'm bringing it into Mazda on Stavanger tomorrow morning to get it cleaned up and fixed.

So just a quick little update. The tint didn't happen. Couldn't make the appointment, tried to make another one, left a message but no one has called me back . The tint is really getting on my nerves.

I also noticed how big the damn glovebox is. It's massive.

The same thing happened to my Mazda3 when I had it. The headlight unit is not waterproof and some moisture got in. It dried out though. The glovebox is huge because that's where the factory 6 CD changer goes. That's one of the few things I wish my lancer had....a hug glovebox. The car manual alone takes up about 1/2 of the glovebox. I was able to fit my laptop in the mazda's. Only for the smaller glovebox and I wish the lancer and projector headlights I love the car.

They wouldn't fix the headlight. If there was water in it, they would, but not condensation. Cheapest price I've fround for a used headlight is $140 from A1. Honestly, it doesnt affect the lighting, this is just completely cosmetic for me. I see it every day and its the only thing I notice for now. haha

Yeah the condensation will dry out. I've seen dozens of mazda3's with the condensation in the headlights, usually it's both of them.

Only easy to fix it. Just bake your light in the oven until the goo gets soft enough to come apart. Then dry the light out inside, get all the condensation out of it and heat it back up in the oven. Secure the light together with clamps and you may want to use new sealant if the stuff on there is bad. Also, check all around the light for any cracks. Search for a how-to online and you will get the specifics, including bake time and temp.

8000k HID upgrade on order. Should look nice when installed.
I also found these, and I instantly fell in love.

I'd love to have them, but thats a little further down the road. Powder coated black, 18". :( I need to get my hands on one of the $10,000 Tims cups.

Gave the car a wash today. Waxed the hood, then the bumper, then I got too cold. I also took off the bug deflector to clean under it and paint the screws black, but now that its off, I kind of want it to stay off. Not sure yet.

Also, those rims in the last post? I don't know why this didn't cross my mind, but I already have some pretty much exactly like them. They came on my old MX6. Only problem is, two are on my brothers car, one is in my garage, and the other is MIA. Its around here somewhere. If my brother isn't using them on his Grand Am, I'll probably think about putting them on my car, and getting them powder coated black.

Also in the picture of the car, you can see the difference in the headlights from the moisture in the passengers side.

Actually, yes. Those rims came off a 94 Mazda MX6 I bought, and just happens to be pure luck that they fit a Grand Am and a 3.

Powder coated black! I really want to get each of the bolts going around the outside of the rim painted to match my car, but it all comes down to cost I suppose.

8000k HID kit arrived today, will be installed Monday.
